- Water Quality (fluoride/arsenic/coliform): Contaminants cause disease even with “access.” Example: Installing community RO plants where fluoride is high reduces dental/skeletal issues.
- Sewage Treatment Capacity & Utilisation: Treating what we collect is key to clean rivers. Example: STP upgrades raise treatment from 55% to 85% → cleaner downstream stretches.
- Solid Waste Management (collection/processing): Door-to-door collection, segregation, composting, MRFs raise processing rates. Example: City moves from 25% to 70% scientific processing → fewer landfill fires.
- Supply Reliability (hours/pressure): Intermittent supply forces tanker use. Example: 24×7 pilot in one zone ends overhead tank dependence.
- Flood/Waterlogging Management: Drains, pumps, and lake revival reduce urban flooding. Example: Deep desilting + pumping stations clear monsoon backups.
