After scoring each sub-factor, we calculate the total score for each of the 10 main factors. Then all these 10 factor scores are combined (after applying their respective weights) to get a final development score for that state’s ruling party. This final score determines whether the party ranks high or low in that state.
We don’t just compare states with each other; we compare them with ideal or national development standards. For example, just because a state is better than a poorly performing neighbor doesn’t mean it gets a good score. We benchmark against what is expected of a well-governed state—like Kerala’s health system or Himachal’s education infrastructure.
We show our scores and data in simple charts, visuals, and downloadable reports so anyone—from a student to a farmer—can understand what we’re saying. You don’t need to be a data expert to know which party worked and which didn’t. Transparency is key—so we let everyone see our process.
We ignore speeches, media coverage, party ideology, or promises. What matters to us is: Did the government deliver or not? For example, we don’t score a government for announcing new schools unless those schools were actually built, staffed, and functioning. Our only loyalty is to truth and development—not to left, right, or center.
